How many Cat 6 cables fit in a 1" conduit?

A typical Cat 6 cable has an outer diameter of ~0.25 inches (area ~0.049 inΒ²). Inside a 1" EMT conduit (40% fill limit = 0.346 inΒ²), you can fit approximately 7 cables. Upsizing to 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" is highly recommended for pulls with bends.

Does NEC conduit fill apply to low voltage?

Yes. NEC Chapter 9, Table 1 fill limits apply to communication and low-voltage cables when run in any raceway (EMT, PVC, etc.) to ensure cables can be pulled safely without physical jacket damage.
